About the Role
Summit is seeking a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer to support our Department of Defense partners on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This position is based on-site at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.
As a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer, you will help design, implement, and maintain secure DevSecOps pipelines while supporting development environments and ensuring cybersecurity compliance. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers to manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines, integrate DevSecOps tools, and automate infrastructure and configuration tasks. You will also assist with system patching, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal software development workflows. Collaboration is key as you provide user support, contribute to engineering discussions, and enhance automation to streamline operations.
This is a full-time, on-site role requiring an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. Candidates must have at least 12 years of general experience and 5+ years in software development, application integration, or DevSecOps, along with an IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE). Experience with Ansible, GitLab, JIRA, CI/CD pipelines, and automation scripting is highly desired.

Description of Duties:
The Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
· Assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of DevSecOps pipelines.
· Supporting administration and operations of development environments, including cybersecurity compliance and general IT tasks.
· Collaborating with senior engineers to support GitLab CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps tools.
· Providing user support and training on DevSecOps tools and processes.
· Writing scripts to automate infrastructure and software configuration tasks.
· Participating in engineering meetings and contributing to technical discussions.
· Applying system patches and performing upgrades in accordance with MDA guidelines.
· Monitoring system performance and resource utilization.
· Supporting software testing and troubleshooting efforts.

Qualifications - External Basic Requirements:
· Must have 12, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
· Must have 5, or more, years of direct experience in software development, application integration, or DevSecOps.
· Current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
· Active DoD Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
· Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and practices.
