About the Role
Summit is seeking an Information Assurance and Security, Lead Associate to join the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) program to add to our distinguished team to sustain and enhance the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS). The JPSS CGS is responsible for implementing JPSS Program command, control, and communications and data processing requirements for JPSS CGS-serviced missions. The JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation Program that acquires and distributes global environmental data from multiple polar-orbiting satellites, playing a critical role to NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans, coasts, and space environments, which supports the Nation’s economy and protection of lives and property.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Provide technical services for the NOAA FISMA High system computers and networks including: software/hardware patching and NIST 800-53 high-impact security control configurations.
Support the NOAA cyber security mission by building, configuring, troubleshooting, and updating the network security capabilities that protect NOAA core networks and information.
Monitor network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission using standard network tools.
Create the established network security processes to defend and operate the national NOAA network.
Provide technical expertise to large or complex projects.
Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for operations team members.
Must have network and firewall engineering experience with designing, implementation, and maintaining Layer 2 and 3 networking devices and/or firewall devices.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience with BS/BA, 3 years of experience with MS/MA or 0 years of experience with a Ph.D.
Experience with Information Assurance (IA) hardening and compliance, i.e. STIG & DSS compliance, documentation, etc.
Strong knowledge of the OSI 7-layer model.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and common application layer protocols.
Knowledge of network systems management principles, models, methods, and tools.
Experience working with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Insight, Confluence, Risk Register, Crucible, etc.
Experience working within a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices.
Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to foster strong relationships with coworkers and vendors.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to dynamically tailor communications effectively to different levels of the organization.
Experience leading projects and process improvement activities to completion with successful outcomes and delivery of desired results.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Intermediate or higher level experience in at least 2 and novice level or higher in at least 2 of the following enterprise cyber capabilities or equivalent products:
