About the Role
Summit is seeking a Junior System Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.
This is a full-time, in-person position with no remote or telework options. Relocation assistance is not available. The candidate must possess an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
This position is on the day shift, Monday through Friday, with occasional travel required up to 10% of the time.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Administer the operations of computer systems related to operating systems, servers, and end-user workstations.
Demonstrate understanding of how software behaves in order to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot systems.
Research new technologies and leverage optimization techniques to ensure that systems operate efficiently.
Understand the dependencies of other technical services running in the enterprise environment (i.e., system to service dependencies).
Build, configure, and re-image machines as part of exercise events.
Maintain patches and updates to all machines deployed.
Troubleshoot, resolve, and document all end-user device issues or escalate to next appropriate tier, as needed.
Support day-to-day operations and episodic events.
Resumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position. The selected candidate may be assigned as an employee for one of our teammate companies.
Basic Requirements:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 4 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 2 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 0 years of general experience.
Must have two years of directly related experience.
Must have a current Security+ CE certification or equivalent IAT Level II certification (or higher).
Must have a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Requirements:
Be familiar with administration in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and/or 8 environments.
Be familiar with administration and maintenance with Windows 10.
Be familiar with building and configuring Active Directory and user services.
Be familiar with PowerShell Scripting.
Be familiar with Virtualization of Windows services.
Be familiar with Remedy.
Be familiar with the Configuration Management processes.
Be familiar with WSUS, SCCM, or Windows Patching.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year.
